Short-term employment (part-time)

 

<Staff wanted at Japanese pub (Izakaya) and cafe>
Chef assistant or waiter/waitress wanted at pubs and cafes. If you have confidence in your Japanese hospitality skills and enjoy communicating with people, you can work as a waiter/waitress. If you like to work quietly, you can work as a chef assistant. At small pubs and cafes, both jobs are usually needed.

<Cashier>
You have to be accurate with money to be a cashier. If you work at a convenience store or other small stores, you will be asked to stock products. You have to be fluent in Japanese.

<On-the-street promotions>
Tasks include handing out promotional tissues, flyers, pamphlets and product samples. You have to be professional and you can not take things personally. You will meet and greet many people during your shift.

<Delivering promotional materials to mail boxes>
Tasks include delivering free newspapers, community papers and pamphlets to the post boxes at each house. Your pay depends on the amount of paper you deliver, not the time, so you will have to be very efficient.

<Assistant for set up of event and exhibition>
This is a physical work as you have to set up and clean up for events and concerts. You can be part of the backstage scene!

<Helpers of moving in and out>
This is a very hard job as it is very physical but you can expect to get high payment. March is the season when everyone moves out and in because of the graduation and enrolment of school and job transfer.

<Labour work>
Labours wanted at construction yards for carrying heavy equipment. Shift sometimes could be late at night and it is a tough job, but you can expect to get high payment. You can learn Japanese architecture from this work.

<Stocking>
Tasks include stocking products at storerooms and garages of supermarkets, door-to-door delivery service and mail-order sale.

<Security guard>
Tasks include checking and reporting the security at buildings or construction yards. You have to be very patient as it is repetitive work.

<Office work>
Tasks include making documents, entering data and receiving calls. You have to be very fluent in Japanese.


<Translation job>
Tasks include translating at companies in Japan which are involved in trading with China. You have to have a good knowledge about difference between Chinese culture and Japanese culture.
